South Side Indianapolis / Greenwood Bicycle Loops

Good places to bicycle can be a little hard to find on the south side of Indianapolis. We don't have anything like the Monon Trail on the north side. If you are looking for a good place to go riding, here's a place that isn't too far away or hard to get to. The starting point is at a Horizon Bank on Greenwood's Main Street, just east of I-65. This was originally a full service branch, not now only the ATM is in operation, so parking should be no problem.

From this starting point, you can head south and east, away from Indianapolis and Greenwood, and not encounter much traffic. If you are just getting started in cycling, you can start at the shorter distances (they go as low as four miles), and work your way up to longer distances. You'll be surprised how quickly you'll be riding 25 miles.
