This is a basic review of Fuji's mountain bikes for 2005. They are listed in order of increasing price. As the price goes up, the components steadily become lighter and more durable. The listings below highlight the features of each model over the previous model in the Fuji line. If you want to see the full specifications of any bike, please visit the Fuji web site. Hardtails are Mountain Bikes Without Rear Shocks

Fuji's Nevada Comes in Frame Sizes up to 24 Inches, Which Makes it Great for Big Guys

Mt Fuji hardtail is at home on the race course as well as a challenging singletrack.

Hardtails

Hardtails are mountain bikes without rear shocks. They are suitable for most off-road biking in Central Indiana.

Boulevard ($239.00) - This is Fuji's entry level mountain bike, with an aluminum frame. It beats the heck out of a department store bike for only a little more money.
Odessa ($299.00) - Features a front shock, and EZ Fire shifters in place of grip shifters. If you're not familiar with these shifters, we'll be glad to show you what we're talking about in the store. Not all customers prefer the EZ Fire shifters.
Sunfire ($299.00) - Aluminum frame, 8-speed rear cog instead of 7.
Nevada ($369.00) - Improved fork, front & rear derailleurs. The Nevada also comes in a 24" frame, while all other models stop at 22" frames. If you're a big guy having trouble finding a mountain bike that fits you, come in & try a Fuji Nevada.
Thrill ($499.00) - Features mechanical disc brakes. At well under $500 for an 8-speed mountain bike with disc brakes, this is an excellent value!
Outland Pro ($670.00) - Does not have the disc brakes of the Thrill, but features upgraded components, including a 9-speed rear cog instead of 8. It is also a little more than 2 pounds lighter than the Thrill. You basically have two ways to upgrade from the Nevada, adding disc brakes (Thrill) or upgrading components (Outland).
Tahoe ($950.00) - Has an air shock on the front fork that you can easily adjust to suit the terrain. Also has mechical disc brakes.
Mt. Fuji SL ($1750.00) - With X-Fusion frame, it weighs in at only 22.6 pounds. It's not cheap, but if you want the best, here it is. It has linear pull brakes instead of disc brakes to save weight.

Dual Suspension Bikes

Dual suspension bikes have shocks on the front & rear. They are recommended for those who ride difficult or rocky terrain.

Discovery 1 ($359.00) - A solid entry-level bike. With its Altair 1 aluminum frame and Suntour front fork(50mm travel), it is strong & durable.
Discovery 2 ($525.00) - With a sealed bearing pivot for its Altair 1 main frame and Promax disc brakes, the Discovery 2 is a step up from the Discovery 1. It also offers more front fork travel(75 mm) with preload adjustment.
Diamond Comp ($1150.00) - The Diamond Comp lightens up with the Altair 2 butted frame design and the Deore 27-speed drivetrain.
Diamond Pro ($1650.00) - The Diamond Pro sports the same frame as the Comp but adds the Deore LX drivetrain, upgraded shocks, disc brakes and a Richey Pro wheelset.
Diamond RC ($2800.00) - More of the good stuff. The RC features Shimano XT, tubless tires, and the new TruVativ Stylo Team Crankset w/integrated BB.
Adventure Comp ($1550.00) - Built more for the downhiller, the Comp increases travel with its four bar linkage system in the rear and the long travel Manitou Nixon Comp fork. Stopping power is provided by Hayes hydraulic brakes.
Adventure Hi ($3000.00) - The Adventure Hi provides the Shimano XT drivetrain, XT hydraulic brakes With tubless tires on a Shimano XT Tubless Disc Wheelset.

Jump Mountain Bikes

Jump bikes are built with heavy duty frames to withstand the pounding associated with this type of activity.

Panic ($390.00) - The entry level jump bike. With its Altair 1 Super Oversized Aluminum frame and Panic X Zoom front fork(100mm travel), it is strong & durable.

Panic Comp ($499.00) - The Panic Comp is an upgrade over the Panic with an improved Shimano drivetrain, front disc brake and lighter weight.

Panic Pro ($799.00) - The Pro has a Shimano Deore drivetrain, disc brakes and a Suntour 120mm travel front fork with remote travel adjust.

Panic Air ($1250.00) - The Air is the top of the line with a stronger frame, Shimano XT components, Shimano hydraulic disc brakes and a Manitou Stance Static Assault Fork.
